Surinder Sharma

President, Power Saving Systems Inc

Surinder Sharma is President of Power Systems Inc. The Company is providing energy efficient solutions to save energy and reduce carbon emissions.

 

Surinder Sharma served at senior management positions in large multi-nationals including at Bajaj Electricals Ltd. as General Manager (Appliances) at Mumbai till 1986 and then as GM at Jumbo Electronics Co., Dubai till 1995. In Canada, he successfully launched an Energy Conservation Services Company in technical collaboration with Energy Automation Systems Inc., US.  His company, Power Saving Systems Inc. assists commercial and industrial properties to conduct Energy Audits and do Project Management for retrofit and technology solutions that help save energy footprint of large commercial properties and manufacturing plants.

Surinder assisted Al Gore’s “The Climate Reality Project” in Ontario and conducted several workshops on Energy Conservation & Climate Change at Mississauga & Toronto Hydro, MBOT, ICCC, IIT Alumni and City Councils.

 

Surinder has been actively engaged in raising the profile of Indo-Canadian professionals as the Past President of IIT Alumni Canada, Past Chair of Panorama India and Past Vice President at Indo Canada Chamber of Commerce.  He served on the Board of Directors at Mississauga Board of Trade 2012-17 and actively engaged with the City Administration. Surinder is deeply involved in many other Indo-Canadian community service projects in Toronto including the International Chair of Walk for Values – a character development project that does public outreach by organizing an annual “Walk for Values” in Toronto and at 50 other global locations. He was part of the founding team of Sathya Sai School – first Indian School that integrates “Sanathan Human Values” in the Ontario School curriculum.  He is Advisor to the newly set-up Canadian Hindu Chamber of Commerce.

 

Surinder is also a keen Sportsman joining most Charity Golf Tournaments including CIF since inception.  He is the current Over 55 years, Ontario Table Tennis Champion.

 

He is blessed with one daughter (insurance professional), elder son (engineer) and younger son a surgeon at Royal Victorian Hospital in Barrie.  Have 4 grandchildren.
