Let’s get going

The most effective way to do it is to do it. With that thought in my mind, I set off on a journey in November 2016. A journey of self introspection, self awareness and self motivation. There was a goal in mind. Just as everyone else, I also wanted to lose weight and become fit. This was a path taken before, a journey started many times and abandoned, a New Years resolution made and then abandoned in February or March. What was it that would work this time? Or would it even work? Would I take yet another journey into yet another diet fad land and come back disappointed with myself?
I had all these questions when I started my new regime of fitness. The most wonderful thing then happened. I fell in love with the path and the journey not caring what the outcome was. This journey of fitness and healthy lifestyle has become a lifelong habit. Having lost 65 pounds, I embraced my dream of running by completing my first marathon in Berlin this year. Mindfulness, consistency and a healthy lifestyle is the key to my success in my fitness journey. I am now a happier person who plans to run half marathons and marathons in every city in the world. It’s a good way to see the world.
To conclude, I leave you with three important lessons I learnt. Food is the key to a healthy mind and body. It is 80 percent what, how and why you eat and 20 percent working out. Sleep is an important factor to a healthy body. Sleep is when the body works on repairing building muscles and inadequate sleep can hamper your progress. Embrace the journey to total mind and body fitness. Don’t stop when you think the goal is achieved. Enjoy the journey and keep on cruising.
