Dr. Samir Patel – CIF Webinar Panelist

Dr. Samir Patel is a clinical microbiologist and Deputy chief of microbiology at Public Health Ontario where he provides clinical expertise in various areas, including bacterial vector borne diseases, antibiotic susceptibility testing, and hospital associated infections. Dr. Patel is also an assistant professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology at the University of Toronto. Dr. Patel received his PhD from the University of Toronto in 2007.

 

He joined the Public Health Ontario as a clinical microbiologist in 2010. Dr Patel is a member of various provincial and national working groups related to Lyme disease including Canadian Public Health Network – Lyme disease diagnostic working group. Dr. Patel is also a co-scientific director of the newly established CIHR-PHAC funded Canadian Lyme Disease Research Network.
