Special thanks are due to Laj Prasher, National Convenor, for organizing the get together and also hosting it. Many thanks to other CIF Members Lucky Lakshmanan (Chair), Rakesh Gupta and Rajinder Minhas as well as several community members who were present at the event. Patrick Brown, MP, was a special guest. The High Commissioner spoke warmly of his days in Canada and especially his interactions with Canada India Foundation. His informal suggestion to both Canada and to CIF was that we should engage more with key states in India, beyond just Gujarat and Punjab, that offer great opportunities and have strong leaders. He has offered to stay in touch and offer support where possible.

The High Commissioner was presented with a special Toronto Maple Leafs Jersey, with his name in the back, and a book by Canadian author and military journalist, Gwynne Dyer, titled “Canada in the Great Power Game”. The hockey jersey was to highlight the Canadian sponsored Ice-Hockey tournament held annually in Leh, Ladakh (in which Patrick Brown participates regularly), and the book would be of interest to the High Commissioner, who is a military man himself.
