CIF Meets Anup Wadhawan, India’s Chief negotiator for Free Trade with Canada

Canada India Foundation held a very productive discussion with the representatives of the Government of India at the negotiations for the Comprehensive Economic Partnership (CEPA) Agreement with Canada, at a dinner meeting held on July 2 at the Boulevard Club in Toronto. The meeting with Mr. Anup Wadhawan, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and chief negotiator for the Indian government and Ms. Shubha Sarma, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, was organized courtsey of the Indian Consulate in Toronto, CIF was represented by Aditya Jha, Vasu Chanchlani, Atul Tolia and Kalyan Sundaram. Also participating in the meeting discussions were R. Venkatesan, Vice-Consul (Commercial), Indian Consulate, Akhil Tyagi, Area Director, South Asia, Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Government of Ontario, and Prashant Pathak, Managing Partner, ReichmannHauer Capital Partners.

 

At the meeting, CIF reiterated its support for expediting the CEPA negotiations and offered its services in any advisory capacity that might be required for the benefit of both countries.
