Canada India Foundation announces 4thCanada India Forum,
Canada India Infrastructure Forum 2014,
Ottawa and Toronto, April 23-25, 2014
TORONTO, CANADA – February 24, 2014: Canada India Foundation (CIF) is pleased to announce the Canada India Infrastructure Forum 2014 in Ottawa and Toronto as follows:

“The emergence of India in the past decade into an economic superpower has put the spotlight on infrastructure as a major area of opportunity that Canada can help India to address,” says V.I. “Lucky” Lakshmanan, Chair, CIF. “Canada India Infrastructure Forum 2014 is the fourth forum that CIF has organized to shine the light on business opportunities in the Canada-India corridor, after Energy (2009), Mining & Metals (2010) and Agriculture and Food Processing (2012)” he added.
Specifically, the objectives of the Infrastructure Forum will be to:
“More than 150 speakers, including ministers from Canadian federal government and provinces, India’s Planning Commission members and central cabinet secretaries and CEO’s from Canadian and Indian private sector have addressed CIF’s previous Canada India Forums and the high caliber participation will continue at the Infrastructure Forum as well”, said Marc Kealey, Co-Chair of the Forum.
Past speakers include Dr. Abdul Kalam, former President of India, Dr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission, federal cabinet ministers Hon. Lisa Raitt, Hon. Lynne Yelich, Hon. Sandra Pupatello and Hon. George Smitherman from Ontario, Premier Christy Clark, Hon. Norm deJong, Hon. Norm Letnick and Hon. Moira Stillwell from British Columbia and Hon. Manmeet Bhullar from Alberta.
The ambitious program is expected to attract about 200 of the most prominent stakeholders and players in the Canadian and Indian infrastructure sectors to identify opportunities for cooperation and address challenges. They will hear and interact with Plenary and Keynote speakers and panelists on infrastructure sub-topics such as transportation (surface, air, waterways), construction (roads, bridges, ports, terminals), water management, power, public private partnership, societal considerations, policy and policy recommendations for the two countries to follow up. Attendees will include legislators and policy makers, regulatory agencies, institutional investors, financial institutions and service providers from Canada and India.
